Communications Coordinator  

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Program Manager, this part-time position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating marketing and advertising initiatives for the District. This position will also be expected to establish and develop strong community relationships, and assist in coordinating contract agreements with community groups. Performs representational duties related to assigned functions:
 
Job Functions
  • Market the District’s mission, benefits, services, programs, and events, developing a broad base of community support.
  • Develop and establish communication initiatives, build positive relationships with patrons/community, and reinforce the District mission.
  • Serve as a coordinator for marketing, sponsorships, website and digital media, public relations, and overall communication planning for the District.
  • Prepares, reviews, and manages, as directed, contracts, agreements, permits, and athletic or rental reservations.
  • Coordinates and monitors contracts with community athletic groups.
  • Develops public outreach plans in coordination with other departments.
  • Performs special projects and attends special events as assigned.
Other Skills/Abilities
  • Skills in the creation of written publications and social networking/media, and web-based communication applications.
  • Ability to effectively network with local and corporate businesses.
  • Positively respond to comments and constructively addresses community complaints
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties such as record keeping, receipting fees, answering telephones, and dispensing information to the public.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree AND one year of related experience; OR
  2. Associates degree AND at least three years of related experience; OR
  3. Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this work.
Special Conditions

A valid State of Ohio driver’s license is a condition of initial and continued employment in this position.

Maintenance Department:

Seasonal Maintenance Technician I 

This position will perform a variety of tasks which include but are not limited to mowing & trimming and general park maintenance. Approximately 32-40 hours per week. This position requires availability from May/June 2018- August/September 2018. Schedule includes occasional evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be 18 or older with a valid driver’s license.

Seasonal Maintenance Technician II

This position will perform a variety of tasks which include but are not limited to mowing & trimming and general park and facility maintenance. Approximately 32-40 hours per week. This position requires availability from March/April 2018- October/November 2018, Monday- Friday 7:30 to 4:00 and several evenings, weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be 18 or older with a valid state driver’s license
  • Secondary education and/or experience working in park maintenance, landscaping, turf management, or other related required
  • Strong organizational skills, leadership, and communication skills required
